Next-Generation Transportation Certificate (Online)
We need transportation that stands up to the challenges of the future.
Civil engineers, urban planners, and community leaders face formidable transportation challenges today: new patterns and modes of movement, decaying infrastructure, global-scale logistics, and an explosion of data and disruptive technologies.
SFU’s online Next-Generation Transportation Certificate is designed to help mid-career professionals use next-generation transportation strategies to deal with these challenges and advance livable and sustainable cities of the future. Looking at today’s needs as well as five years into the future, next-generation transportation professionals aim for solutions that, by working across disciplines, support community resilience in the face of uncertainty and change.
The first course in this program, NGTC 101: Next-Generation Cities and Transportation, was successfully delivered in Spring 2014 with students and instructors participating from across Canada and beyond. Four more courses will follow. Learn more...
