Heritage Resource Management - Professional Master's and Certificate Program

The growth and diversification of heritage resource management (HRM) archaeology since the 1960s has created new standards for training HRM leaders and for addressing the persistent division between academic and applied archaeologies. SFU Archaeology has responded to these demands with a new online master’s program for HRM professionals. The program is geared towards busy, working practitioners with Bachelor’s degrees, who are looking for a thesis-focused Master’s program to further their career potential. The online coursework accommodates students with family and professional obligations who may not be able to be on campus for their studies. Our students get to know one another and their faculty during the in-person orientation in the first week of fall term and we build and maintain a sense of community and engagement online throughout the program. The SFU HRM program has attracted strong partners in the HRM industry and has had two successful initial cohorts.

Graduate Certificate in Imaginative Education

This online Graduate Certificate program is a professional credential based on the work of the Imaginative Education Research Group (IERG).  This program is for educators who wish to critically examine current educational theory, research and practice. Participants are encouraged to examine their own instructional practices in relation to research and theory.
